  • Some people think that universities should provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed in the workplace. Others think that the true function of a university should be to give access to knowledge for its own sake, regardless of whether the course is useful to an employer. What, in your opinion, should be the main function of a university?

    Many are of the belief that providing skills along with knowledge to graduates is the responsibility of universities, while others consider that university is the place from where an individual can get only knowledge rather than the ability, which is required for the market. In my opinion, though knowledge is essential, there are some other skills which can enhance the competency of graduates by providing useful course related to workplace according to the employer’s need.

    Knowledge is essential for graduates to create better understandings. Because knowledge is the gateway to learn that how the things interact with each other, it enables us to think differently. For that reason, mostly universities prefer to give fundamental influence instead of providing other soft skills, which can allow the students to learn the abilities according to the market needs that how to solve the problem practically.

    However, the access to knowledge is not enough to teach workplace related skill. In other words, knowledge can only provide the background, while skills can help us in practical approach. For instance, university of the Oslo conducted a study, in which they concluded that universities taught skills along with knowledge produced 75 % effective graduates than the graduates who only possessed degrees without acquiring the skills.

    In conclusion, though knowledge has crucial role to educate the students, the skills are also essential, for enhance the competent numbers of graduates for the employers.

  • Government should build more libraries then community centers? Agree Or Disagree

    Government is the rulling authority, Which works for the developement of country and for the betterment of the people at large. Libraries are the organize collections of books maintained in easy to use and easy to read manner. Whereas, Community centers are different societies and communities where people gather for socializing and other entertainment purposes.
    Number of libraries or community centers present in the country mainly depends on type of country as developed countries will have more number of such institutions then less developed countries. It takes suitable budget and effective planning to build these types of libraries and community centers.
    Libraries are mainly used for reading purposes and also for seeking knowledge. Country having large number of libraries will be regarded as more litrate and educated. It also will create better international image as it shows that a country has more interest towards imparting eduction at all levels.
    As compared to to libraries , community centers are of gathering for social and entertainment purposes. It can preserve and revive a culture of a country and people can get to know each other in a fun way.
    Almost all the countries have numerous libraries and community centers, of course some countries have more than others. For example, Germany have large number of libraries and social community centers in almost all 16 states with largest cities like Berlin and Frankfurt are major destinations in this manner.
    From above discussion, it is crystal clear that both types of organizations are very productive and useful for the people of the cuntries in its own ways. But i will be slightly in side of libraries as rhey will create more chances for the students and other people to improve their knowledge and skills. So, when it comes to my opinion in this regard , I will agree that government should build more libraries than community centers.
