Manual labor or manual work is physical work done by people, most substantially in disparity to that done by machines, and also to that done by working animals. Lack of any potential to apply ability to a task or to develop skill in a worker; and with low social class. Throughout human existence the latter has involved a range of variants, from slavery , to subtler forms of inequality.This pompous scorn of manual work is ridiculous and wrong, and the distinction between mental and manual labor is ambiguous; for all manual work, even so-called unskilled labor, requires some thought.
