The crime rate is escalating globally these days. The main causes of this pressing concerns are unemployment and poverty. Young individuals are affected by this. The possible measurements to prevent these crimes are law enforcement by punishing the deterrent and by providing technical and vocational education to youth.
Firstly, the primary cause of increasing crime rates is unemployment. Due to lack of resources, young generation often feel compelled to pursue illicit means to fulfill their aspirations. For instance, there is a recent study in Pakistan that shows there is direct relation between unemployment and crime rate. Secondly, another
root cause of this problem is poverty. Due to financial issues in the family, parents often show lack of supervision and pressurizes their children for earning and as a
result they only think robbery, theft and snatching as the only ways to fulfill their and their loved ones needs.
The possible solution for eluding this problem is by stringing law enforcement in the departments that recruited new people. Merit is the only way of hiring new
individuals. Corruption and bribery should be prohibited. Secondly, by giving technical and vocational education can empower skills in youth thus they can secure legitimate jobs and secure their future.
Ultimately, these problems can be overcome if government plays its role in providing job opportunities to young generation. By addressing the root causes of
this problem and by implementing the possible solutions these crimes can be eliminated from the society.
