In the old times, people used to go to sleep at dusk and wake up at the sun rise. Lives were simpler and carefree and people used to have better sleep cycle due to their consistent routine. However, nowadays people often complain that they cannot have a sound sleep. Not having proper sleep impacts the overall lifestyle and causes a lot of problems. The following essay discusses some of those problems and proposes suitable solutions to counter the sleep problems that people have.
Firstly, not having enough sleep at night effects your entire day. For example, when a person, let us say a student, is unable to get a sound sleep during the night, he will be dozing off in the class room, and hence he will not be able to focus properly on his studies. Similarly, if an employee does not get enough sleep at night, he will not be able to focus in his office work, and hence his overall performance will be affected.
Moreover, not having enough sleep for longer periods of time can cause severe brain damage. Human brain works by sending signals throughout the body through neurons. Every physical action and every thought that humans are a result of this neurological activity. When we sleep, we are actually letting our brains to take a timeout. Not giving enough time our brain to relax leads to constant damage of brain cells that can eventually results in memory loss and poor reflux actions etc.
Having a good night sleep is equallent to having a good life. In order to develop better sleeping habits, it is required that a person must improve his sleep cycle. This can be done by avoiding distractions, such as cell phone and television, and following a constant sleep pattern i.e., going to bed and getting up at same time every day.
Apart from that, finding time to do exercise can also help in providing a good night sleep, but it is better that it should be done at the same time daily. Doing exercise let our body to push its limits, burning out the extra calories. This makes our body to get to sleep quickly so that it can keep give rest to the muscles and get itself prepared for the next day.
Thus, it can be concluded that lack of sleep causes problems such as effecting your daily routine and serious health concerns. However, one can practice improving sleeping cycles and getting proper exercise to get a sound sleep.
